Alanna Hirshman Recognized With Frostburg State University Honors

Alanna Hirshman, of Charlotte Hall, Md., was among the graduate and undergraduate students recognized at Frostburg State University's Honors Convocation in May.

Hirshman, who received honors in general education and departmental honors in economics, graduated with a double major in economics and business administration, with a concentration in human resources. In addition to her outstanding academic performance, she has distinguished herself as a student leader. Hirshman is the president of the local chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and a member of the FSU President's Leadership Circle. She was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the national business honor society, and was selected to attend the BGS Leadership Forum in San Diego. Hirshman has participated in study abroad trips to Ecuador and Uganda. She has served the Department of Economics as a student assistant and tutor, and she showcased her accomplishments by representing the College of Business as a commencement speaker. Hirshman plans to pursue a doctorate in economics or leadership at West Virginia University.
