Amanda Cook Recognized With Frostburg State University Honors

Amanda Cook, a graduate of Middletown High School in Middletown, Md., was among the graduate and undergraduate students recognized at Frostburg State University's Honors Convocation in May.

Cook, who received departmental honors in art and design, was on the dean's list every semester and graduated with minors in art history and psychology. Her focus area in the BFA Program was ceramics. She was a member and vice president of Kappa Pi, a work-study assistant since spring 2013 for the Visual Arts Department, peer mentor for the Freshman Orientation class and teacher of a community ceramics class. She received the Jessie Gardiner scholarship for her artistic production. Cook plans to attend graduate school in Pennsylvania or Massachusetts to obtain a master's in art therapy. She is the daughter of Mike and Ellen Cook of Middletown.
