2018 May 10

On May 2, seven Frostburg State University students were inducted into the University's Phi Epsilon chapter of Lambda Pi Eta (LPH), the official communication honor society of the National Communication Association, by the current chapter leadership. The new inductees are Tessa Brewer, Samantha Dabrowski, Morgan Johnson, Ciel LaBossiere-Little, Emily Morgan, Tasia Smith and Rosemary Wehberg.

To be eligible for LPH, the student must have completed 60 semester credit hours, with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0; have completed 12 semester credit hours (18 quarter credit hours) in Communication, with a minimum GPA of 3.25 for all Communication courses; be enrolled as a student in good standing, as determined by the institution's policies; and rank within the highest 35 percent of one's class in general scholarship.

The purpose of LPH is to raise awareness within the FSU community about the importance of communication; to recognize, foster and reward outstanding scholastic achievement in communication; to stimulate interest in the field of communication; to promote and encourage professional development within the Communication Department; to provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas within the field of Communication; to establish and maintain closer relationships between faculty and students; and to explore options for graduate education within the Communication discipline.
