FSU Students Chosen Winner and Alternate at MTNA Competition

Frostburg State University senior Cheranjana Thuyacontha was chosen as the winner of the Maryland Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Competition held at Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Md., in early October. She will represent the state of Maryland in the Eastern Division competition at Rowan University in New Jersey in January. FSU freshman David Cook has been chosen as the alternate for the same competition. Both Thuyacontha, a soprano, and Cook, a tenor, study voice performance under Dr. Mariana Mihai-Zoeter.
