FSU to Present Brass Ensemble Concert, "An Evening of Brass Music"

The Frostburg State University Department of Music will present a concert by the Brass Ensemble, titled "An Evening of Brass Music," on Monday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU's Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Directed by Dr. David Perkel, the concert will feature solos by FSU music majors. On the tuba, Chris Kennedy will perform "Sonata No. 1 in F Major" by Marcello Benedetto and Jeb Cliber will perform "Sonata for Tuba" by Walter Hartley. DeAndre Cook will perform "Morceau Symphonique" by Alexandre Guilmant on the trombone. Other members of the ensemble are Joshua Haden on trombone, Amy Cook and Hannah Livingston on horns and Eric Foreman and Alexandria Blank on trumpets.

The complete ensemble will perform "Fanfare and Chorus" from "Ihr Lieben Christen, Freut Euch Nun" by Dietrich Buxtehude; "Introduction to Act III" of "Die Meistersinger" by Richard Wagner; "Paduana" and "Gaillard" by Johann Schein; "Alleluia, Alleluia" by William Byrd; and "Song, Chorale and March" by Robert Schumann.
