Kaitlyn Wharton Receives Scholarship to Frostburg State University

Kaitlyn Wharton, of Cumberland, Md., received the Hammond Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship: In Memory of Betty Jean Lowery, Kelly Dressler Heflin Foundation Scholarship, Cumberland Lions Club Scholarship, Academic Leadership Scholarship and University Scholarship for study at Frostburg State University. Wharton is the daughter of Kathleen and Eric Breighner and attended Allegany High School.

Situated in the mountains of Allegany County, Frostburg State University is one of the 12 institutions of the University System of Maryland. FSU is a comprehensive, residential regional university and serves as an educational and cultural center for Western Maryland.
