Karissa Fitzgerald Receives Scholarship to Frostburg State University

Karissa Fitzgerald, of Westernport, Md., received the Jeanette and C. William Gilchrist Scholarship, John and Iva Kneisly Memorial Scholarship, Holiday Inn of Cumberland Scholarship: Allegany College of Maryland Transfer Student Award, Hooley Plunge Special Education Presidential Merit Scholarship, LaVale Century Club Scholarship Award, Academic Leadership Scholarship and Associate Degree Scholars Award for study at Frostburg State University. Fitzgerald is the daughter of Jim and Shelly Fitzgerald and attended Mountain Ridge High School.

Situated in the mountains of Allegany County, Frostburg State University is one of the 12 institutions of the University System of Maryland. FSU is a comprehensive, residential regional university and serves as an educational and cultural center for Western Maryland.
