Seth Stine Recognized With Frostburg State University Honors

Seth Stine, a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School in Chambersburg, Pa., was among the graduate and undergraduate students recognized at Frostburg State University's Honors Convocation in May.

Stine, who received departmental honors in biology, graduated with a concentration in molecular biology and a minor in chemistry. At FSU, he was involved in a multiyear genetics project, which involved the application of sophisticated, molecular techniques to determine the gender of a variety of avian and mammalian wildlife species. Stine was a recipient of the Lewis J. Ort Memorial Scholarship for 2011-2014. He also won first place for his undergraduate research poster at the 2014 Maryland/Delaware Wildlife Society Conference. Stine was a member of the National Chemistry Honor Society and the National Freshman Honor Society. Furthermore, he excelled athletically as part of the FSU track team. Stine was recently awarded a full scholarship for the Bio-Medical Science Doctoral Program at West Virginia University for fall 2015. He plans to become a researcher or professor. He is the son of Terry and Vicky Murray of Chambersburg and Stacy and Joanna Stine of Waynesboro and the grandson of Bill and Ruby Wolhide and Allen and Sonja Stine of Waynesboro.
