Three FSU Students Winners in Recent Voice Competitions

Three Frostburg State University students have placed in voice competitions this year.

After winning the State and Easter Division levels, soprano Cheranjana Thuyacontha won third place in the 2016 National level of the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Voice Competition in San Antonio.

Mezzo-soprano Sakkara Turner won first place at the National Association of Teachers of Singing MD/DC chapter and Mid-Atlantic Regional, Musical Theater Competition and has qualified to compete in June at the National Level in Chicago.

Tenor David Cook won an honorable mention in the Winston Voice Competition at the National Society of Arts and Letters, and in May he will perform in the NSAL winners recital in Washington, D.C.

All three students are from the voice studio of Dr. Mariana Mihai-Zoeter.
