Frostburg State University values and celebrates academic excellence. Every spring, the University recognizes the academic achievements of a graduating student from each undergraduate and graduate program. These honorees are nominated by the program faculty. Typically, these honorees are recognized at a special convocation ceremony, the evening before commencement. Regrettably, this ceremony could not take place this year due to the continuing pandemic, but this does not diminish the remarkable accomplishments of these students.

At the end of each spring semester, Frostburg State University recognizes the academic achievements of a graduating student from each undergraduate and graduate program. While the annual convocation ceremony was unable to be held due to the continuing pandemic, the following honorees have nonetheless been recognized for their remarkable accomplishments and academic excellence.

The Frostburg State University Department of Communication presented Trevor Jones with the Civil Citizen Communicator award during the 2016 Frosty Awards show, which recognized the most outstanding student communication projects over the past year.
