FSU Student Jenna Puffinburger Honored as 2019 Newman Civic Fellow
Frostburg State University junior Jenna Puffinburger has been chosen by Campus Compact as a 2019 Newman Civic Fellow, which acknowledges motivation and potential in public leadership. Puffinburger is one of the 262 students who were honored among all Campus Compact institutions.

Frostburg State University Student Joins USM Langenberg Legacy Fellows Program
Frostburg State University student, Jamie Roberts, has been selected to join student fellows across the University System of Maryland (USM) institutions in this year's cohort of the Langenberg Legacy Fellows Program. The Langenberg Legacy launched in 2022 to stimulate student leaders' pursuit of micro-level civic engagement projects that will lead to solutions to broader issues threatening justice, human rights and the environment.

FSU Homecoming Court's Fundraising Efforts Benefit Charities
Frostburg State University's 2016 Homecoming King and Queen candidates raised a grand total of $4,888.57 for local and national charities in just three weeks. Students representing 15 campus organizations raised the most money the election has seen since 2012 and provided a fundraising increase of $1,603.19 from last year's grand total of $3,275.38.

In May, Frostburg State University honored the 23 graduating members of its Empowering Community, Helping Others, Service Through Action, Resources and Sustainability (ECHOSTARS) Volunteer Program at a Celebration of Service. ECHOSTARS is a living, learning and serving experience for students committed to making a change in their community.

Frostburg State University President's Leadership Circle Inspired After "Frostburg Village" Visit in Uganda
Frostburg State University sent students from the President's Leadership Circle to Uganda this spring to assist the Water School in educating residents there about hygiene while helping them build the necessary resources. Seniors are selected in their junior year based on numerous outstanding qualifications to be part of PLC. Upon their return, several of the graduating seniors said the service trip helped them find their calling.
