36 Inductees Installed into FSU Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi
The Frostburg State University chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi inducted 36 new members during a ceremony held May 6 at FSU's Gira Center. The Society is the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. New members include 23 undergraduate students, 10 graduate students, one faculty member and two distinguished alumni.

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Induction
On Saturday, Dec. 2, thirteen new students were initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society. The Society's mission is to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others. Presiding over the ceremony were Dr. Linda Steele, chapter president; Dr. James Saku, chapter vice president; Dr. Eric Moore, chapter secretary; and Dr. Matthew Crawford, chapter treasurer. Undergraduate initiates were as follows: Ryan Adams, Ava Breighner, Jillian Davis, Elizabeth Emerick, Alivia Melius and Cierra Wilson. Graduate initiates were as follows: Ruth Georg, Briana Gibson, Melanie Hebert, Flory Medrano, Jeremiah Rohrbaugh, Julie Thomas and Rebecca Vaughan. Dr. William Wetherholt was the faculty initiate, and Lori Herringa was the alumni initiate.

Frostburg State University and the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge recently announced that Rachael Michalski has been recognized as part of the 2023 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll. The ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll awards college students doing outstanding work to advance nonpartisan democratic engagement at participating campuses.

FSU Communication Students Inducted Into Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society
On May 2, seven Frostburg State University students were inducted into the University's Phi Epsilon chapter of Lambda Pi Eta (LPH), the official communication honor society of the National Communication Association, by the current chapter leadership. The new inductees are Tessa Brewer, Samantha Dabrowski, Morgan Johnson, Ciel LaBossiere-Little, Emily Morgan, Tasia Smith and Rosemary Wehberg.

Frostburg State University Inducts 80 Into New Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi
The first Frostburg State University class of Phi Kappa Phi, the oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, was inducted on May 19. Seventy students and 10 faculty members were inducted into the 348th chapter of the national organization.

Frostburg State University Students Inducted Into Phi Alpha, the National Social Work Honor Society
The following social work majors at Frostburg State University will be inducted into Phi Alpha, the national social work honor society, as part of the Department of Social Work's Pinning Convocation on Saturday, May 16. The Phi Alpha Honor Society promotes humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work. To be inducted, students must have been accepted into the social work major and achieved an overall grade point average of 3.0 and a grade point average in required social work classes of 3.25.
