Dana Severance Receives Doctorate From Frostburg State University
Dana Severance, of Frostburg, Md., recently received a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Frostburg State University during its 147th commencement ceremonies. FSU Interim President Dr. Thomas Bowling conferred nearly 500 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees at this December commencement.

Frostburg State University Theatre to Present "To Kill a Mockingbird"
The Department of Theatre and Dance at Frostburg State University will present a theatrical performance of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "To Kill a Mockingbird," on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26 and 27, and Thursday through Saturday, March 3 to 5, at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. All performances will take place in the Performing Arts Center Drama Theatre.

FSU Student Cheranjana Thuyacontha Wins Eastern Division Level of MTNA Young Artist Competition
Cheranjana Thuyacontha, a senior at Frostburg State University, recently won the Eastern Division level of the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist competition held at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. Thuyacontha, of Silver Spring, Md., had won the Maryland State level of the competition in September and will compete in April in the final National level of the competition in San Antonio.

Frostburg Students Learn to Take a Show on the Road With "Junie B. Jones"
Just like the title character of "Junie B. Jones: The Musical," the show's cast and crew can stand out in a crowd for all the right reasons. The children's musical is part of Frostburg State University's Roundabout Theatre and CES Arts for the Schools, which travelled to area schools to stage the play during the fall semester.

FSU Students Chosen Winner and Alternate at MTNA Competition
Frostburg State University senior Cheranjana Thuyacontha was chosen as the winner of the Maryland Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Competition held at Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Md., in early October. She will represent the state of Maryland in the Eastern Division competition at Rowan University in New Jersey in January. FSU freshman David Cook has been chosen as the alternate for the same competition.
