The universe is now coming into focus through Frostburg State University's Observatory, where stunning images from the rooftop observatory are now being projected on the FSU Planetarium and Multimedia Learning Center's dome screen during shows.

Frostburg State University will present the Clarinet Studio Recital on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. The performance is free and open to the public.

Frostburg State University student Charlie Engleka will present his senior guitar recital, accompanied by bassist Greg Hays and drummer Brian Weyant, on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall in the Performing Arts Center. This recital is free and open to the public.

FSU-TV3 has four new staff members to help produce the series this fall. The Frostburg State University Department of Theatre and Dance will evoke the elegant dance halls of the 1950s as the FSU Dance Company presents its Fall Dance Concert, "Meet Me at the Dance Floor," on Friday, Nov. 13, and Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the F. Perry Smith Studio Theatre.

Frostburg State University senior Cheranjana Thuyacontha was chosen as the winner of the Maryland Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Competition held at Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Md., in early October. She will represent the state of Maryland in the Eastern Division competition at Rowan University in New Jersey in January. FSU freshman David Cook has been chosen as the alternate for the same competition.

Frostburg State University sent students from the President's Leadership Circle to Uganda this spring to assist the Water School in educating residents there about hygiene while helping them build the necessary resources. Seniors are selected in their junior year based on numerous outstanding qualifications to be part of PLC. Upon their return, several of the graduating seniors said the service trip helped them find their calling.

Taylor Schmitz's eye-opening experience as a Capitol Hill intern this summer made the Frostburg State University student eager to follow his passion for politics, thanks to the opportunity from the J. Glenn Beall Institute for Public Affairs.

The following members of Frostburg State University's chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM) presented the findings of their business case study at SAM's national competition this spring in Las Vegas. The students analyzed 3D Systems, which is a competitor in the 3D printing industry. The students researched the company and the industry on their own for nine weeks to determine appropriate strategies.
