Frostburg State University will celebrate student achievements of its fall 2019 graduating class with the 155th Commencement ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 18. The ceremony for the colleges of Business, Education, and Liberal Arts and Sciences will take place in the Harold J. Cordts Physical Education Center's Main Arena at 2 p.m.

Calvin Richards of Hagerstown, a student in Frostburg State University's physician assistant (PA) program, was selected from thousands of PA students across the country as one of 18 to participate in the American Academy of Physician Assistant (AAPA) House of Delegates National Conference in May 2020. The House of Delegates establishes policies and guides the direction of the AAPA Academy each year.

Elizabeth Green of McHenry, Md., an August 2019 graduate from the Frostburg State University Master of Science program in applied ecology and conservation biology, was awarded the Graduate Student Poster Presentation Award at the Natural Areas Association's Natural Areas Conference (NAC) in Pittsburgh.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan honored a volunteer from a Frostburg State University-affiliated AmeriCorps program, FSU senior Mekhi Jones, during the 36th Annual Governor's Service Awards Ceremony, which was hosted by the Governor's Office on Service and Volunteerism in October.

This award recognizes students for outstanding performance at internships. Perrin interns at FSU's Office of News & Media Services. She is an English major with a concentration in professional writing.

He is a business administration major with a concentration in general management.

Frostburg State University student Paul Zimmerman will present his junior guitar recital on Thursday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU's Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center. He will be accompanied by guest artist Greg Hays on guitar. This event is free and open to the public.

Frostburg State University junior Jenna Puffinburger has been chosen by Campus Compact as a 2019 Newman Civic Fellow, which acknowledges motivation and potential in public leadership. Puffinburger is one of the 262 students who were honored among all Campus Compact institutions.

Living and learning in the nation's capital was an eye-opening experience for Joshua Riggs, a recent graduate of Frostburg State University's International Studies program. Riggs spent his fall 2018 semester in Washington, D.C., working as an intern for U.S. Sen. Benjamin Cardin.
